Quite rare 4 speed Sturmey Archer rear hub from the late 1940’s! This hub was introduced in 1946. Includes the original shifter, indicator chain, and pin.
Condition
Great used shape. Bearings spin buttery smooth backwards. Forwards (activating the hub) it seems to get stuck every now and then and requires a bit of extra pressure to keep it spinning. These hubs are not our market, and I cannot diagnose or fix this. Shell has light cosmetic wear. Shifter functions well, and looks great. Indicator chain/pin in nice shape with no rust.
